SLOW FOOT MOVEMENT
Let's go back to repairing, like our grandparents did, but not with the same technology! We believe in the "Slow Foot" philosophy: quality, repairability and a touch of irony. We use animal leather, recovered from the food industry, transforming it into durable and high-quality shoes. We oppose fast fashion by offering a shoe and bag repair service to extend their life: this is true sustainability for us!
The Slow Foot Movement
The animal leather we use is a by-product of the meat and dairy industry. Instead of being discarded and becoming waste, the leather is recovered and transformed into a durable, high-quality material. This approach reduces waste and valorizes every part of the animal, promoting a more efficient and less impactful production cycle. This motivation, combined with its durability and the possibility of being repaired, make animal leather the most sustainable material that can be used to make shoes. This is what we believe in!
But what does Slow foot mean?
The shoemaker's profession fits perfectly into this transformation, because it guarantees a quality, sustainability and ethics that few businesses can afford. In contrast to the so-called "fast fashion", which promotes rapid and unsustainable consumption of clothing, we at Maestri Ciccone are the spokespersons of a more conscious thought. Our intent is completely opposite to commercial fashion trends: in addition to offering more comfortable footwear, we want to extend the life cycle of shoes, with a dedicated repair service.
We called this new approach “slow foot” and it is the conceptual pillar of our entire company.
