Ciccone Masters
This story does not begin with "Once upon a time..." but with "How it was once done...". Because, unlike many other stories, this is a story made of actions rather than words. It is a story that takes its first steps between Abruzzo and Marche, in the ancient shoe upper factory of the Ciccone family. It is a story that intertwines the values of craftsmanship with the qualities of the new world, just as shoelaces are intertwined, essential for not falling to the ground. It is the story of a shoemaker who has made an ancient craft a new job, through an exclusive service in step with the times. It is a story that begins with the soles and ends with a handshake.

OUR STORY
The origins
If we could give a color to this story, it would probably be that of the Marche hills at sunset, where the secret of the sandal color is kept. In this corner of the heart of Italy, mother Loreta, called Rita, was born and raised, sewing the uppers under the house, as all the women of the area did. The same uppers that you then found in the shoes for which we are loved all over the world.
The enormous wealth of knowledge led Rita, in 1980, to found together with her husband Antonio, known as Tonì, what would become the Ciccone family's shoe factory.
OUR STORY
The Master goes to school
While Matteo is getting his diploma as a nautical technician in Ortona, the first competitors begin to arrive from the East.
The doors of the upper factory on Via Tiburtina are shaking, sales are falling, and so is the workforce. Meanwhile, Matteo is starting university in L'Aquila, but in his mind another idea is taking shape. It is a thought that carries a scent, that of leather and hides from ancient tanneries.
OUR STORY
The Evolution of the Master
Matteo is a doorman at the University of Pescara. One day, however, he says to his mother: "I'm going to see this shop that makes sandals in Francavilla".
So, in 2006, at just 21 years old, Matteo worked side by side with a Master from Sorrento. Here, driven by the curiosity of a child, he learned everything there was to know about making sandals. When he returned home, he decided to put his dream to the test. And like any true genius, he started in a garage. In the Rancitelli neighborhood, he opened the shutters of his first shop, where he began producing custom-made Capri sandals.
OUR STORY
Pescara-Milan train
After a couple of glorious years spent making sandals, Matteo moved to Milan, where in 2014 he shared an apartment in the Città Studi area with six other newly graduated engineers. A strong bond was created right away. In the eyes of the boys you could read the enthusiasm for Matteo's story. So, all six, a few years later, decided to help him exhibit at the 2015 edition of the Fuorisalone in via Ventura in Lambrate.
Everyone invents and reinvents themselves by covering different roles, from photographer to marketing manager. The success is disruptive: Ciccone and his six engineer friends sell more than a hundred sandals in a few days.
OUR STORY
The shop is opening!
After the Fuorisalone experience, Matteo understands that he needs a place to try his sandals. The road ahead is long, so he begins to draw up a business plan. In the meantime, some of his engineer friends have taken different paths.
With the friends who remained at his side, in 2017, he decided to take over an old shoe shop in Via Albani. Everyone started working independently, no one was afraid of getting their hands dirty. Three remained: Matteo, Stefano and Alberto. In July 2019, they founded Ciccone srl and, a few months later, they opened the doors of the second store in Missori where the first collections of men's shoes were born. The story of the new Ciccone was born, which is still to be written
It's the first time I buy handcrafted shoes, and I would say that these from the Maestri Ciccione shoe shop in my humble opinion are of excellent quality, they did not disappoint my expectations, I would say that I will continue to buy from them!
😊 I recommend them.
Dear maestro Ciccone you are number one! Great job, the boots with the new Vibram tank are better than new!
