Restoration Loafer from Timberland boat

The Loafer from a boat it is one of the most iconic shoes of the men's wardrobe. And Timberland, an American brand born in 1952, has made it a symbol of functional casual, especially with its interpretation in suede or smooth leather, visible stitching and non-slip sole.

In Ciccone Lab in Milan, we execute a complete restoration of this model, maintaining the original style but restoring full functionality and durability.

The phases of the restoration

1. Removing the old sole
   The first step is removing the worn sole. We do it manually, respecting the original stitching and the structure of the upper.

2. Checking and replacing the midsole
   If necessary, we also intervene on the midsole: we replace it with a new layer of leather or technical material, which is sewing as in the original model. This step is essential to restore the comfort and shape of the shoe.

3. Application of a new Vibram sole
   For the sole we use a template Vibram, selected for aesthetic and performance characteristics similar to the original Timberland ones.
   The new sole comes glued, as in factory assembly, to ensure flexibility and resistance.

4. Artisan finishing and quality control
   Each step is performed by hand, in our laboratory, using traditional shoemaking techniques. In the end, the shoe is finished and checked in detail: stitching, symmetry, cleanliness, grip of the sole.
