Teachers Ciccone

This story does not begin with "Once upon a time..." but with "As it used to be...". Because, unlike many other stories, this is a story made up of actions rather than words. It is a story that takes its first steps between Abruzzo and Marche, in the ancient cheese factory of the Ciccone family. It is a story that intertwines the values of craftsmanship with the qualities of the new world, just as shoelaces are intertwined, essential for preventing us from falling over. It is the story of a shoemaker who turned an ancient craft into a new job, through an exclusive service in step with the times. It is a story that begins with soles and ends with a handshake.

Craftsmanship

Craftsmanship is the hallmark. Each pair of shoes is shaped with skill and dedication, demonstrating a commitment to handmade creation and artisanal excellence.

High-quality materials

Every detail, from the selection of materials to the manufacturing process, is carried out with care and attention, ensuring high-quality shoes that meet the highest standards of excellence.

Tradition

Tradition is the foundation upon which Maestri Ciccone is built. With a deep respect for ancient Italian craftsmanship techniques, it honors the past while looking to the future.

Innovation

The ability of the Ciccone Masters to combine tradition with innovative and modern solutions.

OUR HISTORY

The origins

If we could give this story a color, it would probably be that of the Marche hills at sunset, where the secret of the sandalwood dye is kept. In this corner of the heart of Italy, Loreta, known as Rita, was born and raised, sewing uppers under her house, as all the women in the area did. The same uppers that you would then find in the shoes for which we are loved all over the world.

In 1980, Rita's vast knowledge led her to found, together with her husband Antonio, known as Tonì, what would become the Ciccone family's cheese factory.

OUR HISTORY

The Teacher goes to school

While Matteo obtains his diploma as a nautical technician in Ortona, the first competitors begin to arrive from the East.

The doors of the cheese factory on Via Tiburtina are shaking, sales are falling, and so is the workforce. Meanwhile, Matteo starts university in L'Aquila, but another idea is taking shape in his mind. It is a thought that carries a scent, that of leather and hides from the old tanneries.

OUR HISTORY

The evolution of Teacher

Matteo works as a janitor at the University of Pescara. One day, however, he tells his mother, "I'm going to check out this sandal shop in Francavilla."

So, in 2006, at just 21 years of age, Matteo worked side by side with a master craftsman in Sorrento. Here, driven by a child's curiosity, he learned everything there is to know about making sandals. Back home, he decided to put his dream to the test. And like any true genius, he started in a garage. In the Rancitelli neighborhood, he opened his first shop, where he began producing custom-made Capri sandals.

OUR HISTORY

Train Pescara–Milan

After a couple of glorious years spent making sandals, Matteo moved to Milan, where in 2014 he shared an apartment in the Città Studi district with six other newly graduated engineers. A strong bond was formed immediately. The enthusiasm for Matteo's story was evident in the eyes of the young men. So, a few years later, all six of them decided to help him exhibit at the 2015 edition of Fuorisalone in Via Ventura in Lambrate.

Everyone invents and reinvents themselves, taking on different roles, from photographer to marketing manager. The success is overwhelming: Ciccone and his six engineer friends sell more than a hundred sandals in just a few days.

OUR HISTORY

The Shop!

After his experience at Fuorisalone, Matteo realizes that he needs a place where people can try on his sandals. He has a long road ahead of him, so he starts drawing up a business plan. Meanwhile, some of his engineer friends have gone their separate ways.

With his friends still by his side, in 2017, he decided to take over an old shoe repair shop in Via Albani. Everyone set to work independently, no one afraid to get their hands dirty. Three remained: Matteo, Stefano, and Alberto. In July 2019, they founded Ciccone srl and, a few months later, opened the doors of their second store in Missori, where the first collections of men's shoes were created. The story of the new Ciccone was born, and it is still being written.

This is the first time I have purchased handmade shoes, and I would say that these from the Maestri Ciccione shoe store, in my humble opinion, are of excellent quality and have not disappointed my expectations. I would say that I will continue to buy from them!
😊 I recommend them.

Dear Maestro Ciccone, you're the best! Great job, the boots with the new Vibram lugs are better than new!
