Complete Red Wing Moc Toe restoration
The ankle boots Red Wing Moc Toe they represent one of the most authentic expressions of American work footwear. Introduced in the 1950s, this model - characterized by the stitching Loafer on the toe cap — was designed for workers in the Midwest, combining durability, comfort and an aesthetic that has stood the test of time.
Today the Moc Toe is worn far beyond construction sites: it is an identifying, recognizable boot, built to last. However, after years of heavy use, even a Red Wing needs a specialized restoration, capable of respecting and prolonging its original structure.
How we work on your Red Wing Moc Toe
We Ciccone Masters are specialized in the restoration of this specific model and offer a complete artisanal intervention, with particular attention to materials, methods and durability.
1. Removing the old sole and midsole
The process begins with carefully removing the worn outsole and midsole. This step serves to bring the boot back to its raw state, ready to be rebuilt.
2. Replacing the midsole e Goodyear-welted
We replace the midsole and cork padding, an essential element of Red Wing comfort, and apply a new stitching Goodyear welted, as in the original assembly. It is a complex but fundamental technique: it allows subsequent resoling without compromising the structure of the upper.
3. Application of the Vibram Cristy Morflex sole
For the new sole we mount one Vibram Cristy Morflex, one of the most suitable options for the Moc Toe. Lightweight, flexible and resistant, it maintains the original visual profile but improves the fit and performance on urban surfaces. Vibram, founded in Italy in 1937, is today a global point of reference for high-performance technical soles.
4. Washing and sanitizing
Before delivery, each pair undergoes washing, sanitization and leather treatment. We use specific products that clean thoroughly without altering the material.
Materials and techniques
All the materials we use are selected for quality and compatibility with the original Red Wing project: from the leather for the stitching to the Vibram soles, up to the thread used for assembly. The manufacturing techniques faithfully respect those used in the original construction of the Moc Toe.
Service available everywhere
Ciccone Masters also offers this intervention at home, all over the world. We organize the collection and return: you can send us your Red Wings from anywhere and receive them perfectly restored at home.
