Long zips and double slider: how we choose the intervention

The zip of a bag can have a single slider or two that meet in the center. The path also changes: straight, rounded or distributed on several sides. The replacement must take these characteristics into account, as well as length, tooth size and colour. Not all closures of the same size work the same way.

We check the condition of the tape and the possibility of accessing the seams between the outside and the lining. The condition of the edges also affects a leather bag; on a fabric one, any tears and reinforcements must be evaluated. A new zip attached to a damaged medium would leave part of the problem in place.

8. Do I have to send the bag empty?

Yes: empty the main compartment, pockets and compartments, removing personal items. Show us in the photos any accessories needed to understand the closure problem. Before shipping, wait for the packaging and delivery instructions relating to your request.

9. Does the service also include handles, shoulder strap and lining?

This sheet is about the zipper. If you also notice damage to the handles, shoulder strap or lining, show them to us: any additional work must be evaluated and indicated in the estimate. We do not consider a full restoration to be automatically included in your zip repair.
