The Trapani is a full-grain leather loafer made using a slip-on construction. This style is also known as a "penny loafer" because, in the 1930s, students who typically wore this type of shoe would insert a penny into the slit in the tongue to make a call from a payphone. The Trapani stands out for its construction, which makes it incredibly comfortable and functional.

Full grain calf leather

Full grain leather is one of the most valuable materials, because it constitutes the surface layer of the animal's epidermis and has not undergone particular processes that have altered its natural appearance. Precisely for this reason it maintains the original features of the coat: natural signs such as scars or stretch marks which give naturalness, authenticity and recognisability to the product.

Leather with non-slip rubber clip

Leather is a resistant, hygienic, durable and reusable material. Its characteristics remain unchanged for a long time and the passing of time helps to make it more aesthetically beautiful. Anti-slip rubber clips are injected into the leather of the sole which allow the breathability properties of the leather to be maintained without fearing the rain: this is how the iconic Ciccone sole was born.

“Bag” processing

More than 200 steps are needed to complete the "bag" process: a lining is created, then sewn around the last, worked and joined to the upper. We then move on to the "ironing" which is carried out on a form heated and beaten by hand by a master craftsman. A padded and breathable material is inserted between the lining and the sole. Finally, the lining and footbed are sewn to the upper creating a single body to improve comfort. There is nothing more comfortable!

How to care for leather shoes?

To keep your leather shoes looking their best, we recommend following these simple instructions:

Cleaning and polishing: Use one cream based on beeswax for polishing and apply it with a brush made of horsehair to avoid scratching the leather.

Protection: Periodically use a waterproofing product such asACQUASHOES Allows you to protect your shoes from moisture and stains

Conservation: Store your shoes in a dry place and away from direct heat sources. The ideal would be to use shoe tree made of cedar wood to maintain the original shape.

Duration: To increase their durability I recommend that you always alternate the shoes you wear and in case of rain, wait for them to dry completely before putting your wet shoes back on.

Slow Foot

The animal leather we use is a by-product of the meat and dairy industry. Instead of being discarded and becoming waste, leather is recovered and transformed into a durable, high-quality material. This approach reduces waste and enhances every part of the animal, promoting a more efficient and less impactful production cycle. This motivation, combined with its durability and ability to be repaired, make animal skin the most sustainable material that can be used to make shoes. This is what we believe in!
