Boot Repair
1. Is it always possible to resole a boot or shoe?
In most cases, if the problem concerns wear on the bottom, we can regenerate the shoe using one compatible sole from Vibram or other prestigious brands that guarantee the same performance as the original. However, if the wear is excessive or the upper is very damaged (deep holes or compromised leather), unfortunately it is not possible to proceed. If you have doubts about feasibility, we will always notify you after the inspection in our laboratory in Milan.
2. What can I do if I can't find the specific repair among those listed?
This page shows the main processes, but our artisan workshop can handle many customized interventions. If you need a particular repair, you can request a tailor-made quote directly to this page: https://my.maestriciccone.com/
3. The resoling does it compromise the waterproofness of the Gore-Tex (or similar) membrane?
No. The process is designed to preserve the integrity of the membrane: we intervene on the bottom without "invading" the internal structure. If there is pre-existing damage (delaminations, internal cuts, etc.), we will let you know before proceeding with the processing.
4. Where are your shoes produced and where do repairs take place?
Our shoes are proudly made in Montegranaro, in the Marche region, in the heart of the Italian footwear district. This link with tradition allows us to fully understand every construction secret: the repairs are then carried out by hand in our laboratory in Milan.
5. What kind of soles do you use for repairing ankle boots?
We carefully select technical soles from the best global manufacturers such as Vibram, SVIG or Dainite, based on the specific construction of the boot. Thanks to our experience, we identify the compound and design that best suit the original model (Blundstone, Timberland, etc.), ensuring durability, grip and maximum respect for the initial aesthetics of the shoe.
6. How long does the complete restoration take?
The average processing time is approx 4 weeks, but may vary due to possible unavailability of specific materials or high workload during peak periods. This period includes initial sanitization, manual processing, quality controls and tracked return.
7. How does home collection and delivery work?
We organize it home collection (home or office) and tracked delivery via express courier. We work in our laboratory in Milan: you prepare the packaging, we'll take care of the rest. For shipments outside the EU, there may be additional customs times and costs, which we will explain to you in advance by providing you with the necessary instructions and documents.
8. How should I prepare the boot for shipping?
Prepare a well-closed package: do not use original bags, shoe trees or boxes, but only include the products to be repaired. Apply the label that you will receive via email to the package and deliver it to the courier who will arrive on the scheduled day. (If you use Gmail, also check the section Promotions, because sometimes the email ends up there.)
9. How is payment made?
The payment takes place at the end, once the repair is completed and before the return shipment. We accept major online payment methods, including debit or credit cards, PayPal or Satispay.
